India: 50 Killed In Floods And Landslides In Northern And Eastern States
Fifty people were killed in a variety of mishaps as a result of flooding and landslides triggered by three days of torrential rainfall in northern and eastern Indian states. Hundreds of towns were inundated by the monsoon rains, and many villagers were left stranded in the water as their homes were washed away by flood channels. Three days of flooding and landslides in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh resulted in the deaths of 36 people, according to the Indian authorities.
