Unauthorizedly, a researcher at the National Natural Science Foundation (NSF) used a federally funded supercomputer to dig bitcoin. After the incident was discovered, the researcher was banned from cooperating with government agencies.

This matter was partially reported to the Congress by the NSF Bureau of Investigation and sent online. The unsigned researcher was accused of using a computer with more than $150,000 NSF support to dig up bitcoins worth about $8,000 to $10,000.The researcher insisted that he was testing on a supercomputer, but both universities affiliated with him denied that they had authorized the mining. Moreover, the report said that the survey showed that he took a series of steps to hide mining behavior. The report concludes that the NSF has been suspended and the government’s next step.

No answer

The NSF OIG report implied that the Bureau of Investigation revealed the abuse of the computer after they received an unauthorized notice of conduct. However, no further information shows how these secrets were discovered. The report also gave an overview of Bitcoin, saying that Bitcoin is “a country-independent virtual currency” that can be converted into an actual currency at an exchange.

More and more events

Researchers have been condemned for not allowing the use of sophisticated computers to dig virtual currency. Such news who accepts bitcoin? , notably, is not the third.

In February of this year, an anonymous Harvard researcher was banned from using the university’s computer equipment after discovering the use of university computers to dig dog money.

University computers have also become like magnets, attracting college students to use high-end computers and free power to get virtual currency. For example, at the end of April, Iowa State University said that because students tried to dig bitcoins, computer security systems were forced to open up some of the permissions.

Prepaid bitcoin card expert GogoCoin has announced that it has reached an important partnership with Blockchain and released a “white label” card, which helps users quickly build a bitcoin wallet.

Blockchain’s card is preset with 2mBTC, which is intended to be given to users and encourage users to use the wallet service. GogoCoin’s CEO, Tom Longson, told Coindesk that he believes the launch of the card will increase bitcoin acceptance. Relationship with Block chain

Long son said that the cooperation between GogoCoin and Block chain is completely market-related. Users who get the Blockchain card follow the prompts to redeem.bitcoin.com and then use the scratch card code to get 2mBTc. This collaboration enhances the Blockchain service, which makes it easier for users to accept BTC using the domain name of bitcoin.com .

Long son said that the white label card that was launched in cooperation with Blockchain can help people use more virtual currency.

“If Blockchain can give cards and let more people understand what Bitcoin is, it is a victory. This is ours. Victory, the victory of Blockchain.info is also the victory of the entire community.”

Beginner’s rally

The Blockchain brand card was originally introduced at the beginners’ rally.

The event was held in San Francisco’s public workspace, 20Mission. Bitcoin conferences were held in this space, and this year’s Bitcoin art rally was held to promote digital currency.

Longson said, “How many people are participating, I don’t have a specific number. However, I know that about 300 cards were issued.”

GogoCard has been running for a while under its own brand. In order for people to use Bitcoin, Longson often distributes a GogoCoin card worth $25 at the rally. Many times, the paper wallet will be sent to the newcomers to introduce Bitcoin. Longson said that paper wallets are useful, but they are flawed.
